Earthquake 6.9 SR Okinawa Japan: Strong earthquakes struck the island of Okinawa in the south of Japan Saturday morning, and Japanese weather agency issued a tsunami warning has two feet, but the warning was later lifted and there are no reports of major damage. [Blogger - Business Blog SEO]
U.S. Geological Survey reported an earthquake measuring 7.3 struck SR at 5:31 local time (early hours Saturday at 3:31 pm) 84 Km east of the island's capital of Naha, a city of about 1600 km south of Tokyo.
Japan Meteorological Agency, which mentions the power of SR 6.9 quake, has warned residents near the coast to evacuate to high ground, but a tsunami warning was later lifted.
Okinawa prefectural police officials Noritomi Kikuzato told Reuters, there are no reports of people injured or major damage.
"First there is a strong vertical shock, then sideways. The last strong earthquake that lasted for about 10 seconds," Naha city officials said Seiboku Sueyoshi.
